In performance enhancement, we more often than not are working to harness the power of the brain to help focus more, run faster, or throw further, whilst managing the anxieties that can impair our ability to perform.
It is not necessarily the events in our lives that cause the anxiety, but the way we think about them which cause the problem. Anxiety can occur when we think negatively about the past, present or future. We can feel out of control and no longer ourselves, which is when our ability to enjoy life is then hindered.
In every initial consultation, I explain the theory behind how our brains work. Understanding how our brains respond to different situations, is often the ‘light bulb’ moment when everything falls into place and change can be made.
